Overview

These custom Ableton Live (12) racks are designed to speed up the mixing process by allowing you to apply high-pass (HP) filter cuts that align with the key of your track. This ensures your EQing is musically in tune with your song's harmonic structure, helping create cleaner and more sonically cohesive mixes.

Each rack corresponds to a chromatic key and includes frequency-based high-pass filtering for precise low-end management. Additionally, each rack contains default Ableton EQ8 low-shelf filter cuts to further refine your mix.

These high-pass filter racks are designed for seamless mixing, allowing you to apply frequency cuts in alignment with your track’s key. Each rack corresponds to a chromatic key and spans from Octave 0 to Octave 7, covering essential frequency ranges to clean up your mix without sacrificing musicality.

How These Racks Work

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download the Racks

Once you’ve purchased or downloaded the racks, extract the files to your desired location on your computer.

Step 2: Import the Racks into Ableton Live

1. Open Ableton Live 12.

2. Navigate to Places in the Browser Panel (left side of Ableton Live).

3. Click Add Folder and locate the extracted folder containing the racks.

4. Drag and drop the desired rack onto an audio or MIDI track.

Step 3: Saving for Quick Access

To keep the racks accessible within your Ableton library:

1. Drag the racks into User Library > Presets > Audio Effects Rack.

2. Rename or categorize them as needed for easy access.

How to Use These Racks

1. Identify Your Track’s Key: Before applying a rack, determine the key of your song.

2. Load the Corresponding Rack: Select the high-pass rack that matches your track’s key and drag it onto the desired channel.

3. Adjust as Needed: Each rack comes with frequency cut presets. Adjust the controls based on your mix needs.

4. Combine with Additional EQ & Processing: These racks provide a starting point for key-based EQing—combine them with other tools for further refinement.
